Financial and technical support for poultry farming
Due to heavy demand in the area regarding poultry farming, HCN funded Bote women with NRs. 50,000 (Nrs. Fifty thousands) as the initial fund to start poultry farming. There were two groups amongst the Botes that raised chicken. HCN supported the groups with a workshop that provided technical knowledge on poultry farming. A trainer was hired as a resource person and he gave a one day orientation on poultry farming. The raised chickens were then sold in Tansen, the nearest city.
Community rolling fund
“Save Rs. 5 a day” has been the norm among the Botes after HCN intervened in the area. Bote women started saving money in a local co-operative and used the money on a need basis (e. g they took funds on a roll on a turn by turn basis). Much progress has been made since then.
